2008 Steamboat Mountain Film Festival Guidelines:
-Finish line: All submissions must have been completed after September 1, 2007 Works in progress will not be considered. Films will not be returned.
-Festival Notification: You will be notified in writing on or before October 1, whether your film has been invited to screen with us or not. Please do not call the festival for disposition.
-Loss and Damage: Every precaution will be taken to safeguard all materials submitted while in the possession of the festival. However, we cannot accept or assume responsibility in the event of loss or damage.
-Reel Open category allows for any "adventure" theme based films, which can be any length. This classification broadens the range of film offerings as it does not need to be an action sport based film. Festival judges will decide which films will be screened and award the Best Overall title. We have a "Pro" and "Independent" category to separate the big production houses from those on a slim budget. Pro category films we consider to be a production budget over $10,000, Independent, less then. Please distinguish your film by checking whether you are Pro or Independent.
-Reel People category will be judged by the audience of WZ-TV, through online voting. Competitors for this category will be vying for People's Choice, Best Powder, Best Line/Performance, as well as athlete categories of the same classifications. To compete for the Reel People awards, filmmakers must submit 3-5 minute clips/teasers in addition to their full-length films to be considered.
-All Reel People Awards submissions must include some aspect of an action sport from any season. Examples of action sports: Biking, Skiing/Snowboarding, Kayaking, etc.
-All Reel People Awards submissions must include a five (5) minute short of the full length feature.
-All Reel People Awards submissions cannot be longer then twenty five (25) minutes including credits.
-Applicants assume responsibility for clearing music rights in their films. Festival Sponsors assume no responsibility for any copyright infringements.
